Complaints, Incidents and
Resolving difficult complaints and assisting with serious issues such as Coronerís Inquests and Safeguarding Alerts. With considerable experience in dealing with difficult complaints from residents and families, we can provide support in the following areas:
- Negotiating a resolution to difficult complaints, including undertaking independent investigations, meeting with complainants and regulators, and drafting correspondence.
- Assisting owners and managers with safeguarding issues. We have attended many Safeguarding / Adult Protection Strategy Meetings, and have noted wide variance between areas in the way Safeguarding (England) and Adult Protection (Wales) issues are handled. We have been able to bring this knowledge to bear in resolving cases swiftly. This includes assisting homes to overcome constraints applied through overzealous safeguarding activity. These constraints usually include lengthy suspensions of Social Services contracts which can severely affect the business of a care home.
- Untoward Incidents: we can assist in investigating the causes, and identify how to manage risks effectively.
- Assisting homes with Coronerís inquests and legal proceedings. Previous experience has included attendance at inquests assisting Counsel to present cases.
